From the Studio: An Amazing Discovery

This is one of the collage pages I’ve been working on for my book about my experiences being an adult diagnosed with autism later in life.

Most people who have met me haven’t seemed especially amazed when I’ve told them I’m autistic. But some years ago, I was diagnosed with autism; like the collage says, for me the experience was “an amazing, life-changing, personal discovery.”

Putting the words together to explain it has been a challenge, though. Anyway, I’ve reached the point where it’s more work than I have the spoons for to keep it to myself and I felt moved to share (go and Google “spoon theory,” if you’re unfamiliar with it and want an explanation on having or not having spoons).
